Programs

For Children
We began as a children’s library. Even today, the majority of our classes and activities focus on the enrichment and education of young people.
Junior Master Gardner (JMG)
ARTS/RTFL Art After School Program

ARTS, Arts for Rural Texas www.artsforruraltexas.org is proud to partner with RTFL to provide free Art After School classes to the children of the RT/C community. These classes, involving both visual and performing arts, enrich the educational opportunities of the kids while providing a fun, safe, and constructive option to local parents. The children of Round Top and surrounding communities are benefiting from these classes because ARTS and RTFL know that art exposure leads to higher test scores, better behavior, long term success, and really fun afternoons. Join the fun and leave an artist!
Art After School is provided at the Library during the school year. Questions? Contact Mary Leitko: or 979-966-7563
Round Top Family Library Traditional Storytime
Early childhood reading readiness is encouraged through simple activities and children’s books being read to preschool age kids, including pre-k students from the RT-C Elementary School pre-k class. (Other preschool age children are also welcome, but please call Mary Leitko in advance if your preschool age child wishes to attend and is not a preschool student at RT/C Schools.
Phone 979-966-7563 or email This applies to both Traditional Storytime and Neighborhood Visit Storytime.
Neighborhood Visit Storytime
We hold Storytime at various locations around our community, allowing preschool age children including our RT-C Elementary School pre-k the opportunity to visit area businesses and organizations, meet the people who hold various jobs, and listen to a story related to the visit. (Please call in advance if your child is not a RT-C preschool student so we can make arrangements in advance.)
