Children’s Programs
Although we now are so much more, we began as a children’s library. True to our roots, we are constantly growing and improving our classes and programs to provide fun, quality experiences for our youth of all ages. With the freedom to enrich and educate children through play, laughter and kindness, our after school classes, summer programs and activities continue to provide valuable, healthy and happy experiences.

RTFL’s Kids’ S.E.E. Programs - Summer Education & Enrichment
Each summer, RTFL offers six weeks of amazing summer programs, including classes in Animal Science, Art, Cooking, Creative Writing, Theater, Gardening, and more. Summer at RTFL is made possible because of a team of dedicated staff, volunteers and teachers and has now become the go-to spot for summer education and fun.
Be sure to check back next Spring of 2027 when we post our schedule of classes and provide details on registration. All children are welcome and our programs are free!
Summer at RTFL is just one of the many ways we nurture and care for our youngest learners. RTFL’s 2027 Kids S.E.E. Summer Programs will be offered during the months of June and July. We hope to see you next summer!

Junior Master Gardener (JMG)
We offer a wonderful program to teach our kids about growing food and gardening. We learn, grow, eat and go—we like to think of it as “growing good kids.”

RTFL’s Fall 2026 Children’s Programs
RTFL is pleased to provide free classes to the children of our community. Classes for Fall 2026 at RTFL’s campus include chess, taekwondo, life skills, art, guitar, ballet, Shakespeare, creative writing, ukulele, sign language and gardening. We are so grateful to ARTS (Art for Rural Texas) for partnering with RTFL to offer the classes in creative writing, guitar, ukulele, ballet and art.
RTFL’s classes are not only educational — they are really fun!

RTFL’s Children Storytime
Our Children’s Storytime is a special time for children to hear an age appropriate book and participate in activities such as art, music or games after the storytime. A parent or guardian must be present. Please check back to find out when the next Children’s Storytime will take place!
